How we will be closed in 2026

The year 2026 is once again rich in holidays and operational adjustments during the summer holidays and the turn of the year. This overview will help you better plan your visit to a branch or use the library's services on days with different operating hours. To save you a trip, we bring you an overview of planned library closures in 2026. 

The library is closed on public holidays throughout the year, and during certain periods, the bookmobiles do not run and library operations may be limited or otherwise adjusted. Below you will find an overview of planned closures in 2026, including exceptions. 

April – Easter

• Friday, April 3, 2026 – closed, kiosks open according to shopping center opening hours
• Saturday, April 4, 2026 – closed, kiosks open
• Sunday, April 5, 2026 – closed, kiosks open
• Monday, April 6, 2029 – closed, including the DBK kiosk; the CČM kiosk and the Chodov kiosk according to the opening hours of shopping centers

May holidays 

• Friday, May 1, 2026 – closed, kiosks open according to the opening hours of shopping centers
• Friday, May 8, 2026 – closed, including the DBK Kiosk; the CČM Kiosk and Chodov Kiosk will be open according to the opening hours of the shopping centers
• Monday, May 25, 2026 – closed, kiosks open

Summer hours July 1 to August 31, 2026
 

During the holidays, modified opening hours apply to branches. Closed on Saturdays and Sundays. The exception is kiosks, whose opening hours do not change in the summer.

• Monday, June 29, 2026 – Sunday, July 12, 2026 – closed Velký Mlýn
• Monday, June 29, 2026 – Sunday, August 23, 2026 – no bookmobiles

Summer closure

• Monday, September 28, 2026 – closed, including the DBK kiosk; the CČM kiosk and the Chodov kiosk according to the opening hours of shopping centers
• Wednesday, October 28, 2026 – closed, including the DBK Kiosk; the CČM Kiosk and the Chodov Kiosk according to the opening hours of the shopping centers
• Tuesday, November 17, 2026 – closed, kiosks open

Christmas: December 2026 – January 2027

• Monday, December 21, 2026 – Sunday, January 3, 2027 – closed Velký mlýn and Hloubětín
